Janaki Krishnan is a popular actress associated with Malayalam small screen. She made her acting debut as a child actress of the movie, Black released in 2005. She played Mammootty’s daughter in this movie. Later she played one of the daughters of Salim Kumar in Johny Antony's Masters. Both these roles were blink and miss roles. She was also seen in Thommanum Makkalum as a child artist. As an adult actress she played supporting roles in Oru Indian Pranayakadha and Law Point, both released in 2014. With the film Urumbukal Urangarilla (2015), she marked her debut as second lead. The movie received positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. Janaki Krishnan hails from Kochi, Kerala. But later she spent her childhood at Thiruvananthapuram city,where she did her schooling from Holy Angels ISC School, Nanthancode in Thiruvananthapuram city.Currently she is pursuing her LLB course at National Law College, Kochi. She started her film career as a child artist in 2005, and later debut as an adult actress in 2014. She played Fahadh Fassil’s sister in ‘Oru Indian Pranayakadha’ and Kunchacko Boban’s sister in ‘Law Point’. Oru Indian Pranayakadha was noted for its humour elements and Janaki earned recognition through this role.In 2015 she got her first lead role of her career - Urumbukal Urangarilla. Ananya played the lead role while
Janaki played the parallel lead Deepa in this film. Though she is receiving many offers both from Tamil and Malayalam movies, currently she is concentrating on to her studies, and a bit choosy on roles. She wants to keep a balance with both. She has done several sister roles onscreen and now wants to do lead roles.
